The Sto. Niño Elementary School, spearheaded by the school’s Disasters Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Coordinator Mr. Arnel Ramer, conducted a DRRM Olympics on July 30, 2019. The Olympic was just right after a rigid of training the previous months and various cancellation of activities brought by the unfavorable weather conditions.
The said Olympic is cognizance of the National Disasters Preparedness Month of July theme
“Kahandaan sa Sakuna’t Peligro para sa Pagbabago”. This DRRM Olympic sought to involve the whole community or stakeholders towards wholesome awareness at all levels in promoting a safe working and learning environment; increase learner’s knowledge on preparedness, prevention and mitigation during emergency, generating the highest level of awareness, consciousness, promote camaraderie and importance of team working in DRRM programs. The participants involved mainly the pupils, parents and teachers and they are all trained to in dealing with emergencies such as rescue operation, fire safety, and first aid in times of real dangers.
