Online In-Service Training for Teachers to the New Normal
In accordance with School Memo No.16,Series 2020, dated August 3, 2020, Sto. Niño Elementary School held its online “In-Service Training for Teachers to the New Normal” to facilitate professional training and learning opportunities for teachers in the new normal state at present. Under the leadership of Dr. Karen V. Delica, current Principal, and the INSET focal person, Febie Y. Jocson, Master Teacher , the five-day training from August 6-8 and 10-11, 2020 was implemented successfully.
The In-Service Training is conducted to…
a. Train and equip participants in the development of learning resources using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) .
b. Familiarize oneself to different G-suites such as Google Classroom, Google Drive, Goggle Sheet, Google Docs, and alike.
c. Provide information that are responsive to the current crisis situation.
The training is a collaborative effort of the ICT Team of the school to address the needs of the teachers to enhance their skills in ICT to cope in the New Normal World of technology where Face-to-Face Learning is prohibited and Distance Learning is being embraced. Furthermore, this will equip the teachers with knowledge and understanding of the different platforms that they could use in their Blended Learning or Online Distance Learning.
“ Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”, according to Nelson Madela. It is our duty and responsibility to make the learners learn from us educators, so there’s no way we can teach what we do not know. That’s why we should learn them first before we could impart knowledge to our dear learners.
